Happy Birthday MRWED!

MRWED celebrated 14 years as an RTO today. The business has seen many changes since commencing in 2000, but we are still committed to the twin goals of creating great learning experiences and improving the quality of trainers and assessors. MRWED has now supported more than 22,000 students in certificate and diploma programs since 2000 and has delivered programs in 12 different countries. 

Marc is a Finalist in the Australian HR Awards

MRWED CEO, Marc Ratcliffe was a finalist in the category of HR Champion at the Australian HR Awards held in Sydney this week. Whilst he did not take away the winner’s trophy, we are proud of his recognition in the area of staff development and engagement.

Getting ready for the USI

Our Administration team are busy preparing for the new Unique Student Identifiers (USI) that come into effect on the 1st of January 2015. We are proud to have been invited by the USI taskforce to be involved in the first round of testing for the new USI portal. The early results are positive. We are pleased to see that the portal is very user friendly and simple for students wishing to apply for their own USI.

Marc going to WAAR in Wichita

Today Marc continued his work with real estate educators from the Wichita Area Association of Realtors (WAAR) by delivering a full-day workshop around his new book, “The Trainer’s Cook Book: Recipes for Learning Engagement Success”. The audience were captivated by the techniques and found many take-aways from the day that could be immediately implemented into their own training.

A week of Anniversaries

This week we have had a lot of staff anniversaries with Leonie and Micaela enjoying their first full year in the business. Geoff had his 2nd anniversary, Carol her 5th anniversary and Cheryl celebrated an amazing 10 years with MRWED.  Congratulations and thanks for the great contributions you each make!

Achoo it’s the flu!

A big shout out the MRWED team this week, as more than half of the business was out with the flu. We are normally a caring and sharing lot, but on this occasion we hope that those who are out with the worst of it, keep it to themselves. Rest up team and be heathy!

Diploma Units now online

Students looking to study the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and The Diploma of Learning Design and Development have additional online learning choices from this week. MRWED’s Blair Dunn and Damian Noud have been working tirelessly to complete the online learning materials for all the Diploma units offered by MRWED. These are now available to study via our Learning Management System, Canvas.  “We are thrilled to have these options available”, Damian said.

Jason and Micaela have fantastic training meeting with PSBA.

This week Jason and Micaela met with the Public Safety Business Agency (PSBA) at their Kedron operations centre. The strategic purpose of PBSA is to support healthy, safe and secure communities through public safety, emergency management and secure and appropriate correctional services. Much of this involves community education and communications programs and MRWED are in talks to develop appropriate professional development to support the roll of training and development for their team.

Creative Training Techniques are proving popular!

We are thrilled to announce that the first two Train-the-Trainer Boot Camps in Brisbane and Sydney for the new financial year have been confirmed and that the Department of Defence have committed to two Boot Camp programs for later in the year. Toastmasters have also signed up for a 1 day Creative Training Techniques workshop in Sydney in October.

Marc Speaks at 21st International Conference on Learning in NYC

MRWED CEO, Marc Ratcliffe was once again invited to speak at the International Conference on Learning held at the Lander College for Women in New York City this week. He presented his popular “Trainer’s Cook Book” workshop at the event.
