MRWED participates in Queensland Premier’s Trade Mission to India

Marc Ratcliffe with a Panel of Education Providers being introduced by the QLD Premier

Queensland Premier, Campbell Newman has used a panel discussion with some of India’s industry leaders to promote the State’s quality services in education and training, strengthening ties between the two regions. MRWED’s Marc Ratcliffe was part of this panel and provided an important background about skills development needs and opportunities.

Mr Newman said today’s workshop showcased the expertise of Queensland’s education and training sector. “In 2011, Queensland attracted more than 13,000 enrolments from Indian students, providing an estimated $330 million to our economy,” Mr Newman said. “With the Indian Government promoting skills development as a major national priority, Queensland’s quality vocational education and training sector is well placed to assist in meeting those needs”, he said. MRWED has been supporting Indian Skills Development programs since 2008.
