COVID-19 related shutdown of MRWED Training Centre in Sydney

New South Wales has seen an upward trend in community transmission of coronavirus in recent weeks, putting the state on high alert to prevent further spread. As our Sydney Training Centre is located in a named CBD hotspot, MRWED has come to the difficult decision to temporarily close the centre. NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has urged residents and businesses to be on “high alert” and to “hold the line” against the virus.

MRWED returns training to the classroom

MRWED are excited to be resuming our face to face classroom sessions in the coming weeks across all our national locations. This decision has been made in consultation with health authorities and through guidance received from the Department of Education, Skills and Employment.

We have made a number of changes to facilitate this return to the classroom, in order to keep our students and Learning Leaders safe during the current next stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes:

This afternoon, MRWED’s Damian Noud will join Kerri Buttery and Tori Carroll to dissect the 3rd Annual AVEAR report and discuss the past, present and future of e-learning adoption in the vocational sector as part of a Canvas LMS panel.

Congratulations to PD Survey Winner

Congratulations to Kirsty from Kool Kids Training College for winning the MRWED PD survey promotion comprising $550 worth of MRWED PD. Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey, which helped us to frame the topics for our upcoming VET practice in Action webinar series.

MRWED to return to face-to-face training in mid-June

Based on government health directions and advice from the Department of Department of Education, Skills and Employment, MRWED will be returning to face-to-face training in mid-June. We will continue to follow enhanced sanitising procedures and limit class sizes to enable appropriate social distancing to occur.

MRWED Launches Free Webinar Series

MRWED are thrilled to share that we have developed a free webinar series for trainers, assessors, and training managers called the “VET Community Support Series”. This series offers sessions aimed at extending VET practitioners’ knowledge and skills in the techniques, strategies and practices needed to enhance the overall learning experience for their students.
