Marc keynotes at the Virtual CEO Conference

Velg Training’s Annual CEO Conference was presented today. This event aims to encourage, motivate and validate current practices and deliver content that is thought-provoking and relevant to senior RTO leaders and owners. The theme of the 2021 event was “Take Charge” and MRWED’s Marc Ratcliffe presented the opening keynote address: “SuperCHARGE your RTO: A CEO’s perspective”. In his presentation, Marc outlined the six key steps to set your RTO up for success.

Industry Engagement at Insources event

Marc Ratcliffe spoke at the Insources VET Policy and Compliance Virtual Summit held today. Raising the profile of VET is at the centre of a comprehensive reform initiated in 2021 that promise to deliver a new and modern regulatory regime to ensure that the VET system is responsive, respected and flexible into the future.

Digital Learning Day 2021

MRWED General Manager, Jason Ash, participated in the Digital Learning Day event hosted by Vetr today. He delivered two sessions on the schedule:

  • Fun with Virtual Backgrounds
  • Tips for Providing Synchronous Online Learning

In a year that has seen pivots and shifts to online training due to COVID-19, these topics were a welcome addition to the program and offered practical tips for how to improve the learner experience. 


Release of 2021 Webinar program

In February, MRWED released its 2021 webinar schedule, which comprises six purposeful professional development series, spread over the year. These range from events focused on facilitation and creative training to learning design and advanced VET practice. Mission is Possible

We were excited to bring the MRWED team together live for the first time in 12 months for our annual Mission is Possible week. This is where we set the tone for the year by completing a range of development projects, examine new methods of operation and highlight ways to improve the learner experience.

After many months of development and testing, MRWED are thrilled to announce the release of three new Diploma unit online:

MRWED involved in PD for TAFE QLD Educators and Educational Managers

MRWED CEO Marc Ratcliffe participated in the TAFE Queensland Virtual Summit this week, providing insights into facilitating effective e-learning sessions and maximising remote working. The Virtual Summit was an internal professional learning event for TAFE Queensland Educators and Educational Managers, hosted by the Centre for Learning and Teaching in collaboration with the Learning Technology Innovation and Services Unit and regional Educator Capability Development teams.

Jason Ash a Panelist on ASQA’s Strategic Review into Online Learning

Jason Ash shared his thoughts on quality e-learning next Monday, as a panelist on ASQA's webinar - "Strategic review into building online learning capability in the VET sector". This Ask ASQA webinar was part of a series of engagements with the sector contributing to ASQA’s strategic review of online learning.

Repeat TAE PD week a hit

MRWED teamed up with Velg Training for the second time in 2020 to deliver some pointed professional development aimed at supporting VET practitioners in maintaining their currency. This was a repeat of the popular TAE PD Week that was delivered in June in involved 10 sessions linked to units of competency from the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. More than 1000 attendees participated in the event.

MRWED Supporting TAFE SA’s month of PD

MRWED provided three PD sessions for TAFE SA teachers as part of their Staff Appreciation Month held in November. The sessions were:

  • Trainers Cookbook: recipes for Learning Engagement Success

  • Facilitation Tips to enhance your Online Trainer’s Tool Kit.
