Other Study Options: 

There are 10 units in the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training. These are divided into 6 core units and 4 elective units.

This program is delivered in a blended way, combining face-to-face delivery (including a variety of reinforcement and extension tasks), online or correspondence study and a practicum component.

All participants will have access to mentoring from a dedicated Learner Success Team (LST) Mentor, structured webinar-based tutorials and a comprehensive suite of resources with which to read/view/reflect and share.




How long do I have to complete my TAE50116

You will have up to 12 months to complete all your study and assessment requirements.


Can I complete the whole course online?

Yes. It is possible to complete the formal learning online. However, you will have to ensure that there is reasonable supervision of practical tasks. This is something that you can discuss with your MRWED Learner Success Team Mentor.


Can I complete the whole course face-to-face?

No. The program has been developed with the busy practitioner in mind. So, there is a combination of face-to-face, online and practicum components to be completed. However, depending on the electives selected, you will have up to 7 units available (from the 10 units required) in a face-to-face capacity.

What is the start and finish time?

The doors will be open at 8:30am for a 9am start and the course will conclude at approximately 5pm

What should I bring?

We will provide all necessary materials such as pens, paper, assessment books and Books of readings. We will also provide a USB stick with versions of all of our assessment books. If you prefer to work on laptop please bring it along. We have free WIFI in all our rooms so feel free to bring along any other smart device that will aid your learning experience.

Is lunch provided?

No, we will however provide morning and afternoon Tea as well as Tea, Coffee and water throughout the day. All our centres are fitted with refrigerators and Microwaves if you choose to bring a packed lunch. Alternatively there are many fine food outlets in close walking distance to all our centres

Is there a dress code for the course?

Neat casual dress is required

What sort of assessment work is there?

 In the public course you will be involved in many different delivery and assessment strategies ranging from Assessment books with short answer and Multiple choice questions through to role-plays and written feedback from our Learning leaders on a series of presentations you will deliver during the course

How long does it take to get my certificate?

In most cases within 2 weeks of you successfully completing your studies, you will receive a link via your nominated email address to your original Statement of Attainment or Testamur. From this link you will be able to print a copy, save the document or forward as an attachment. If you would also like a hard copy sent to you, you will be asked in the email to confirm your details are correct, once confirmed we will organise printing and postage to your nominated postal address.

Geoff Cake

Geoff brings more than 25 years of training and facilitation experience to the organisation, gained in both Australian and international environments. He continues to passionately demonstrate the ability to encourage learners to develop new skills and mind sets in a variety of diverse cultural and economic settings. He is a qualified celebrant, having officiated hundreds of ceremonies over the past two decades.

Phillip Jefford

Phillip brings a strong background in Learning and Development and Project Management to the team.  This includes experience in both the corporate sector and within RTO environments. Originally building his career in management roles, Phillip has since moved into the training world, specializing in organizational leadership, professional development and coaching skills.

Damian Noud

Damian has more than 20 years of experience in training and assessing at universities and private colleges. Through his roles as a Director of Studies and then Principal at NSW and QLD private training organisations, Damian has had substantial practical management experience in Australia's VET sector.
